Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) held its annual Wellness Week for students, faculty and staff on March 31, 2014, through April 4, 2014. The week included free vision and dental screenings for DCB students provided by Family Vision Center and Dr. Lori Witteman, DDS, PC. A $35 wellness lab panel at St. Andrew's Health Center was offered as well.
Other activities included a PowerPoint presentation on sexual assault by Colleen Kornkven of the Family Crisis Center. A wellness fair and blood drive were held and an "Unplugged" open mic night where students had the opportunity to share their poetry, acting, and other talents was sponsored by the student affairs division. Activities also included a texting and driving simulator also sponsored by student affairs, and informational booths, provided by the DCB Dakota Nursing Program ADN students. The simulator supplied real time feedback of the consequences of texting and driving. The week concluded with a drawing for prizes for those in attendance at the activities throughout the week.
