Valerie Heilman, Financial Aid Director at Dakota College at Bottineau, was elected President of the North Dakota Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NDASFAA). NDASFAA officers are peer nominated and majority voted positions. Ms. Heilman's election gave her and Bethany Vincent, the NDASFAA Treasurer from North Dakota State University, the opportunity to attend the organization's Leadership and Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C., in March. At the conference, participants discussed their leadership responsibilities and met with their senators and members of congress to discuss important financial aid issues. Valerie stated the following, "I am honored that my peers nominated and voted me to the Presidency, as this position will allow for my continued growth as a professional." It has been 17 years since a financial aid administrator at Dakota College at Bottineau was an official for NDASFAA.
