DSU's McCoy named vice president of NDRA Posted on 5/10/2012
Dr. Christine McCoy, assistant professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Dickinson State University, was named vice president of the North Dakota Reading Association. This position is a four year progressive service commitment to the NDRA board.
This year, McCoy was the conference coordinator for NDRA 2012 spring conference, "Gushing with Great Ideas: Discovering Literacy on the Western Edge!"
The conference was held at Dickinson High School and the Ramada Grand Dakota Lodge, April 19-21. Over 500 people from all over the state of North Dakota were in attendance, including the attendance of all Dickinson Public Schools employees and highly acclaimed Heinmann authors, Katie Wood Ray and ReLeah Cossett Lent. The conference provided valuable presentations on practical ideas for the classroom and a variety of sessions on common core state standards, STEM and critical literacy.
