NDSCS Practical Nursing program ranks No. 1

Posted on 1/20/2011

The North Dakota State College of Science Practical Nursing program has been ranked number one out of 1,087 other practical nursing in the United States as reported by Mountain Measurements, Inc. NDSCS had 39 practical nursing graduates take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for practical nursing between April 1 and September 3, 2010. As a result, 100 percent of the NDSCS graduates passed the exam on the first attempt.

"We are very proud of our on-campus and NDSCS-Fargo graduates. Our dedicated faculty and staff have built a strong, nationally ranked program that is focused on student success," said Barb Diederick, Chair Department of NDSCS Nursing.

NCLEX examinations are designed to test the knowledge, skills and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry-level. All Boards of Nursing in the United State require nursing candidates to pass this exam for licensure as a practical nurse.
