by Dr. Jennifer Weber

We’re excited to welcome Daniel Bussian to the NDUS Core Technology Services (CTS) as our new Data Solutions Manager.

Daniel joins the North Dakota University System from Mayville State University, where he served as Director of Institutional Effectiveness. He brings a strong background in institutional research and data‑informed decision‑making, along with a deep commitment to using data to support planning, improvement, and meaningful outcomes across higher education.

In addition to his work in higher education, Daniel brings more than 14 years of experience from the Grand Forks Housing Authority, where he held multiple roles focused on technology, operations, and organizational effectiveness. He holds an MBA from the University of Mary, as well as Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and the University of Minnesota—a background that reflects both analytical strength and creative thinking.

In his new role, Daniel will lead work within IDEG (Information and Data Executive Governance), a systemwide, cross‑functional team that helps guide how NDUS data is managed, governed, and used. IDEG plays an important role in ensuring data quality, security, and consistency across institutions, while supporting the ethical and strategic use of data to inform academic, research, and business decisions.

Reporting to Dr. Jen Weber, Director of Institutional Research/Chief Data Analyst, Daniel began his role on February 2. We’re thrilled to have him join CTS and look forward to the leadership, collaboration, and expertise he brings to IDEG and the broader CTS team.
