NDSU student receives landscape association scholarship

NDSU horticulture student Sarah Kickert was selected to receive a 2019 National Association of Landscape Professionals Foundation scholarship. She will be awarded the Vito Mariani Sr. Scholarship at a scholarship recognition reception held in conjunction with the organization’s National Collegiate Landscape Competition at Colorado State University in March.

The foundation grants scholarships to students enrolled in landscape contracting or horticultural programs at two-year or four-year colleges and universities. Students must be an active member of their NALP student chapter to qualify for a scholarship.

Kickert is a senior from Shakopee, Minnesota, who will graduate in May in horticulture with a landscape architecture minor. She is advised by horticulture professor Todd West. She is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and the NDSU Horticulture and Forestry Club. She also was selected to be a NALP Student Ambassador in 2018.

Following graduation, Kickert will begin a position as a design assistant with Southview Design, Minneapolis.

As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
