03 May Spring Concert Upcoming
WILLISTON, N.D. – Summer is almost here, and the Williston State College Music Program will wrap up the 2018-2019 academic year with its Spring Concert on Sunday, May 5.
Both the WSC Choir and Williston State Community Orchestra (WSCO) will perform a variety of traditional concert pieces as well as newer pop selections.
“When programming music for each group, I try to strike a balance between finding music that our audience will enjoy and that fits each group,” explained Dr. Kyle Norris, WSC’s Associate Professor of Music. “These pieces should provide musical challenges to the students but also be rewarding as students progress through the rehearsal process.”
The concert begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Skadeland Gymnasium at WSC.
This event is open to all ages and free to the public. Donations will be accepted at the door and will benefit the WSC Music Department.
“Our performances are culminating events for the semester,” stated Dr. Norris. “This is our chance to invite the public to campus and let them hear what we have been working on for many months.”
If you are unable to attend this Sunday’s concert, or want more, the WSC City Band will again perform a series of concerts in Harmon Park throughout the summer.
A specific date for the first concert will be decided soon and details will go out at that time.
