07 May NDSU faculty in residence participants announced
NDSU Residence Life has announced two faculty members will participate in the Faculty in Residence Program. They are Ryan Kota, assistant professor of sport management, and Ethan Boldt, incoming assistant professor of criminal justice and political science.
Kota focuses his research on trends in the sports industry and its diverse consumers. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and Master of Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University in New York; he also earned he master’s degree in sport management from Baylor University in Texas. After actively participating in the sports industry for a few years, he returned to get his doctorate in sport management from Florida State University. Kota will serve as a faculty in residence in the Mathew Living Learning Center for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Boldt’s research focuses on the impact of search and seizure rules, state court administration and criminal justice issues. He earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice sciences and political science from Illinois State University and his doctorate in political science from the University of Georgia. Boldt will serve as a faculty in residence in Cater Hall during the 2019-2020 academic year.
The Faculty in Residence Program began in 2008 and has expanded to include faculty apartments in both the Mathew Living Learning Center and Cater Hall. Faculty participating in the program connect with and mentor upper division students living in the residence halls. They focus on building connections, the exchange of ideas, students’ intellectual development and personal career experience to create an overall shared experience within the hall.
