19 Jun NDSU entrepreneurship director to speak at rural engagement conference
Scott Meyer, Ozbun Executive Director of Entrepreneurship and director of The Nice Center at NDSU, is scheduled to speak at RuralX June 19 in Mitchell, South Dakota. He will share how communities can engage with universities and attract and retain talent. He also will discuss the importance of entrepreneurship in building a resilient and dynamic community.
RuralX is a gathering for rural people to connect and engage with a network of people from across the region. The two-day event inspires attendees to help their community thrive through motivational keynote speakers, new ideas, breakout sessions and topics relevant to rural community and economic development.
Joe Bartmann, Dakota Resources president, said the RuralX group is excited to have Meyer as a speaker. “We love that Scott has been an entrepreneur growing his own company, has connected and supported countless other companies along the way and is now committed to building the role of higher education in supporting these ecosystems in rural places,” said Bartmann.
During Meyer’s presentation, the audience will hear examples from The Nice Center’s Faculty Fellows that will provide tangible evidence of how NDSU is fulfilling its land-grant mission by connecting and working with North Dakota communities in an effort to be more entrepreneurial.
As a student-focused, land-grant, research university, we serve our citizens.
