25 Jun Apprentice opportunities grow at LRSC
Lake Region State College and the Department of Labor entered into an agreement June 21 officially granting LRSC the ability to host apprenticeships.
Barry Dutton, State Director DOL office of Apprenticeship in Bismarck and LRSC President Doug Darling signed the agreement.
With this agreement, the Department of Labor recognizes LRSC’s ability to provide apprenticeships in four areas, Dutton said. Those areas are IT Specialist, IT Cyber Support Technician, Electronics Technician, and Electro Mechanical Assembly.
“This allows a more technical approach to earning a degree and creating a career for those looking to enter the workforce sooner rather than late,” Dutton said.
It also will allow veterans to use previously learned skills and apply them in an apprenticeship to get them into the workforce.
