North Dakota State men’s golfer Andrew Israelson has been named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar.

Israelson is the first player in school history to earn the honor. In total, a record setting 540 student-athletes earned the award over NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA. There were 266 NCAA Division I selections of the 540.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar, an individual must be a junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate’s Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must have participated in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

At the GCU Invitational in March, Israelson shot a 207 over the 54-holes, the second lowest score in school history. His stroke average of 73 this year is the sixth best in school history, while his 73.29 over his three years at NDSU is the best in school history. Israelson also ranks fifth in school history with a .725 career winning percentage.
