UND Presidential Search Committee to hold next public listening sessions in Bismarck and Devils Lake
Events will be held on Aug. 21 at Bismarck State College and on Aug. 22 at Lake Region State College
What characteristics and strengths would you like to see in the next University of North Dakota president?
The public is invited and encouraged to attend listening sessions, scheduled for Bismarck and Devils Lake, later this month, to share views with members of the UND Presidential Search Committee, which is interested in the insights of North Dakota citizens and other friends of the University.
- The next listening session is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 21, in the Alumni Room of Bismarck State College, 1425 Schafer St. The Alumni Room is located in the buildings lower level. UND Presidential Search Committee member Joshua DeMorrett, a UND alumnus and director of stakeholder relations with the ConocoPhillips Company, will help moderate the Bismarck event. Committee Co-Chair Dr. Casey Ryan will participate via telephone.
- Another listening session is scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, in the Chautauqua Gallery meeting room in the main campus building of Lake Region State College, 1801 College Dr. North, in Devils Lake. UND Presidential Search Committee member Cynthia Lindquist, a UND alumna and current president of Candeska Cikana Community College in Fort Totten, N.D., will help moderate this event. Search Committee Co-Chair Dennis Elbert will participate via telephone.
Comments and views collected from these listening sessions will not be attributed to individuals, and will be presented to the full UND Presidential Search Committee at a later date.
The search committee has already hosted three similar listening sessions – all in Grand Forks, UND’s hometown – for students, staff and faculty as well as the community at large. More listening sessions are slated to take place after the start of UND’s fall semester.
Public comments will help the committee prepare for a successful search. Students are welcome to attend any of the scheduled listening sessions.
