NDSU engineering outstanding staff award winners announced

Two staff members have been honored for their contributions to the success of the NDSU College of Engineering.

Tiffany Neuharth was named the Outstanding Staff Award recipient for the paraprofessional or office support level. Neuharth has worked as an administrative assistant in the mechanical engineering department for more than 15 years.

Colleagues say her experience and knowledge have made her an invaluable resource for the department, college and university.

“The support Tiffany provides to her fellow staff and faculty is never-ending,” said Tanya Erickson, the academic and student services coordinator in the mechanical engineering department. “Her dedication to providing quality service to everyone she encounters has been vital to our department’s success.”

The College of Engineering’s other Outstanding Staff Award, for a staff member at the professional level, went to Nancy Rossland.

Rossland has worked for the College of Engineering for more than 14 years and currently serves as the director of advancement. Her responsibilities include developing relationships with alumni and industry, promoting undergraduate programs through community outreach events, engaging in student recruitment efforts and coordinating special events.

“Nancy’s passion for the College of Engineering and her ability to build relationships with alumni, students and donors make her uniquely suited to carry out her broad range of duties and provide tremendous benefit to the entire college,” said Alan Kallmeyer, department chair for mechanical engineering.

Neuharth and Rossland were honored at the College of Engineering Scholarship and Awards Reception Sept. 6 in the NDSU Memorial Union Great Plains room. The event was a celebration of student scholarship recipients, scholarship donors and faculty and staff award winners.
