CVIC and UND co-host annual North Dakota Clothesline Project and Take Back the Night march/rally this week in stance against violence

Thursday night rally at Chester Fritz Auditorium to include ‘Peacemaker Award’ presentation

The Grand Forks Community Violence Intervention Center and the University of North Dakota invite campus community and public at large to attend a series of free events as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and to be a voice for change.

Here is the schedule of events:

Clothesline Project- Oct. 9-10:

Visit the North Dakota Clothesline Project on display, Oct. 9-10, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the UND Wellness Center. The project displays dozens of shirts designed by adults and children who have been harmed by violence.

Take Back the Night March and Rally- Thursday, Oct. 10:

6 p.m. – March across campus, leaves from UND Wellness Center and ends at Chester Fritz Auditorium. A social with complimentary hors d’oeuvres will begin at the auditorium immediately following the march.

7 p.m. – Rally with Peacemaker Award presentation begins at the Chester Fritz Auditorium.  Hear from two guests sharing personal experiences and be part of a community movement to end violence for a safer tomorrow. A shuttle to the Wellness Center will be available after the program for those who march.
