Online NDSU programs highlighted in magazine

Three online NDSU graduate programs are featured in the latest issue of Fargo Inc! magazine.

The article, “Three Graduate Programs Under One Roof,” by Brady Drake, describes the youth development, family financial planning and gerontology master’s degree programs in the NDSU Department of Human Development and Family Science.

“We’re excited to be able to offer these flexible, online master’s programs to help working professionals advance in their careers. These programs have also been great for some people to change their careers to a field that they are really passionate about, whether that be to help youth, families or older adults live their best life,” said Joel Hektner, professor and department head. “Being online, these programs attract students from across the country and some other countries, but we find most of our students right here in this region. So this story in Fargo Inc! really helps us spread the word about these opportunities to people who already know and respect NDSU.”

The programs are offered as part of the department’s collaboration with the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance, a consortium with faculty from institutions such as Michigan State University, Iowa State University, University of Nebraska and University of Missouri.

Fargo Inc! is a monthly business magazine published by Spotlight Media, Fargo.
