26 Mar WSC and COVID-19 update
WILLISTON, N.D. – The following is an update from Williston State College president, Dr. John Miller, on WSC’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19):
Dear Campus Community:
As always, I appreciate your understanding and patience as we have worked through this complex and uncertain process. Additional details related to the completion of the Spring 2020 semester continue to be developed and will be communicated in the coming days.
I hope that the transition, while ever changing, has gone as smoothly as it can for each of you. As I have said before, the Teton Community is strong and resilient, and I know we will all make it through this time together.
The following are important updates related to operational changes and questions as a result of COVID-19.
WSC Bookstore
- The WSC Bookstore, Andrea’s, will reopen on Monday, April 6, but will be available by appointment only. Visiting the bookstore will require an appointment which can be made be made online at willistonstate.edu/bookstore.
- As a result of WSC’s decision to cancel all commencement and honors activities, the WSC Bookstore has made arrangements with its cap and gown vendor, Balfour, to coordinate returns, refunds, and order cancellations. More information can be made online at willistonstate.edu/bookstore.
- Rental textbook(s) are due back to the WSC Bookstore no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020. All rentals must be postmarked on or before May 15 and returned via mail, UPS, or FedEx.
TrainND Northwest
- The TrainND Northwest campus now has online course options available for the ONE BASIN-One Way! program, H2S, and the XTO High Risk Orientation. To enroll in any of these options, students will visit ndoil.org/onebasinoneway to claim a company account. Questions can be directed to TrainND Northwest at 701.572.2835 or safety.training@willistonstate.edu. Students must have access to a computer, tablet, or cell phone with web cam and microphone capabilities.
WSC, along with its North Dakota University System partners and the State Board of Higher Education, is still working on a refund policy for room and board. More information will be published as a plan is approved for each campus.
Again, WSC is not closing campus which includes the TrainND Northwest campus but is making operational adjustments for the safety of our community. I ask for your continuing patience and cooperation.
Respectfully,
John Miller, Ed.D.
President
