20 Apr WSC Coach Triplett recruits two new Lady Tetons
WILLISTON, N.D. – The newest member of Teton Athletics, Coach Bill Triplett, is not letting COVID-19 interrupt his recruiting and is happy to announce the recent signing of twin sisters Layni and Marni Schieffer from Wibaux, Montana.
The last name of Schieffer should sound familiar to Teton fans as Layni and Marni have two older sisters, Payton and Sydney, both of whom played for the Williston State College Tetons.
Corey and Heidi, parents of the Schieffer girls, also have a fifth daughter, Toni.
Layni was selected all-conference all four years of high school while playing at Wibaux. She was also chosen all-state her junior and senior seasons. The 5’7” guard averaged 12.5 points per game.
Marni was a three-time all-conference performer and like her twin sister Layni, was selected as an all-state player the past two seasons. Also 5’7”, Marnie averaged 13 point per game this past season.
“I’m happy that Marni and Layni have chosen WSC,” stated Coach Triplett. “They are both solid basketball players that can handle the ball well, see the floor, and make good decisions. They can both knock down the three ball and also put it on the floor and get to the rack.”
“We just became a better team when they decided to become Lady Tetons,” emphasized Coach Triplett.
