21 Apr WSC student nurses seek donations for women’s shelter
WILLISTON, N.D. – The Williston State College Nursing Organization (SNO) is currently seeking donations for the Family Crisis Shelter in Williston.
“With everything that is going on right now, we wanted to do something positive for the community,” explained donation organizer and SNO networking representative, Tiffany Henry. “There is a definite need for help right now.”
Henry is joined in her efforts by fellow Practical Nursing (PN) students, Jamie Korsa, Joyce Jones, Joslyn Ivernon, and Sarah Neu.
The group is seeking the following types of donations:
- Boards games
- Movies
- Women’s and children’s clothing
- Canned or box food
- Gift certificates
- Toiletries
- Baby formula
- Diapers and wipes
- Anything else people want to donate
The group is gathering donations from now through Thursday, April 30 and plans to deliver all items the first week of May.
At this time, they have received donations of clothing, a few movies, feminine products, deodorant, and nursing pads.
In addition to donations for the Family Crisis Shelter, Henry and her peers are gathering a care package together for a local family in need.
“For any families reaching out for help we want to include board games, movies, food and essential items that are needed,” explained Henry. “It all depends on the donations we receive but there are people out there that need help. It’s important to make sure that if we have the ability to help that we do.”
For individuals interested in donating, please contact Henry at tiffany.henry@willistonstate.edu or 971.313.2202 to coordinate a time for contactless pick up.
