Quirk promoted to chief information officer at NDUS Core Technology Services

BISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakota University System (NDUS) has promoted Corey Quirk to the position of NDUS and Core Technology Services (CTS) chief information officer beginning Aug. 4, 2025. He will report to Interim Chancellor Brent Sanford.

His decades-long relationships within the university system are a testament to his ability to foster trust and deliver results.”

Quirk has a bachelor’s degree in graphic communication and a master’s degree in industrial technology, both from the University of North Dakota. He has more than 25 years of leadership in IT administration. Since 2023, Corey had served as deputy CIO for CTS. His extensive career within the NDUS also includes roles as director of Enterprise Applications, and assistant director and lead applications administrator for CTS Enterprise Services.

In this new role, Quirk will be responsible for setting the strategic vision and delivering cohesive leadership for information technology services and data intelligence across the NDUS. He will oversee CTS which provides essential infrastructure, platforms, and services to support institutional success. The CTS portfolio includes:

  • Office of the CIO – Leads enterprise-wide strategic initiatives such as project and contract management, administrative support, software licensing, IT security, and planning and governance
  • ConnectND – Oversees NDUS’s implementation of Oracle’s PeopleSoft system, delivering integrated solutions for student administration, human resources, finance, and campus portals
  • Enterprise Solutions – Supports NDUS institutions’ teaching, research, and service missions through tools like Microsoft Office 365, the enterprise learning management system, the NDUS help/service desk, and other collaborative technologies
  • Infrastructure and Operations – Manages NDUS’s statewide IT infrastructure, including data centers, networks, server environments, storage solutions, and systems monitoring
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM) – Ensures secure and efficient access to system resources through authentication, provisioning, role-based access, and identity lifecycle management
  • Information Security – Provides risk management, cybersecurity operations, threat response, and policy enforcement to safeguard NDUS digital assets and ensure system resilience
  • Institutional Data Reporting and Analytics Services – Drives institutional effectiveness through data reporting, governance, business intelligence, data warehouse development, and advanced analytics initiatives
  • ODIN—Oversees the Online Dakota Information Network supporting Library IT services.
