02 Dec WSC Giving Tree Returns
WILLISTON, N.D. – Williston State College’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) has put up its annual Giving Tree for the 2019 holiday season.
“This year, the PTK students wanted to support to the MonDak Animal Rescue and Williston Wonders,” explained Lynne Raymond, Associate Professor of Psychology and Co-Advisor of PTK.
The MonDak Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation located inside the Buck Scheele Family Animal Center. They provide a temporary safe place for animals awaiting to find their forever homes.
Williston Wonders is a community group that hosts free and low-cost sporting opportunities for individuals with specials needs of all ages and their families.
“It is important to give back all year round, but especially over the holidays,” stated Karissa Kjos, Student Life Coordinator and Co-Advisor of PTK. “Many groups in Williston are unable to afford general supplies and activities so this is a small way for us to help them and make a big difference.”
Located in the lobby outside of WSC’s bookstore, Andrea’s, the Giving Tree is decorated with paper ornaments that describe needed items. Items include dog and cat food for the MonDak Animal Rescue and movie and bowling alley gift cards for Williston Wonders.
All are welcome to participate. The 2019 PTK Giving Tree holds 100 ornaments.
If interested, please come and select an ornament, sign your name next to the corresponding ornament number, and go shop! Once you have the gift, please return it wrapped and with the ornament attached to the Arts & Human Sciences Department at WSC by Wednesday, December 11.
