Statement on Open Records

Our office is committed to transparency and accessibility as mandated by the North Dakota Constitution and Century Code. We ensure public records are available and process efficiently, providing timely and accurate information without unnecessary delays.

Understanding Open Records vs. Information/Data Requests

Open records requests pertain to existing documents like emails, reports, and meeting minutes under open record laws. In contrast, information or data requests involve creating new information or extracting specific data sets, which are not covered by these laws. All data requests are fulfilled at the discretion of the IR staff.
