What’s New?

There have been some important changes to the FAFSA recently.

Questions on the 2024-2025 FAFSA have been streamlined, meaning it might take you less time to complete than you think. Depending on your situation, you may be able to skip up to 26 questions, meaning you’ll only need to complete 18 questions which often take less than 10 minutes.

610,000 new students are now eligible for Federal Pell Grants, helping more students fund their education.

What Help is Available?

There are lots of resources available to help students and parents fill out the FAFSA and understand more about the aid they will receive.

The FAFSA form, and information about completing the FAFSA and aid available, can be found on studentaid.gov.

Locally, Bank of North Dakota provides students and families with many resources that can help you learn more about paying for an education. This includes information about the FAFSA, including details about what you’ll need to complete the form, assistance available, deadlines, and what to expect once you’ve completed the FAFSA.

You can also view informational videos and past webinars on the Bank of North Dakota YouTube Channel.

Upcoming In-Person Events

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step in paying for college and every 2-year and 4-year school in North Dakota requires the FAFSA to qualify for federal and state financial aid and some scholarship opportunities. If you’re going to college in the 2024-25 school year, but haven’t filed your FAFSA, here is your chance! FAFSA filers should get their Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) 3 business days prior to in-person events, but if not, you can set it up at this event too.
